Important win for Piestanske Cajky in the fight on Final 4

Victory in this game moved Piestanske Cajky to the top of Group B, because ICIM Arad missed their game against SBS Ostrava. This game will be play on February because of illness and injury Ostrava players. The result of this game could be very important in the fight on Final 4.

 

Cajky-ValosunHome team made little steps for the victory during the game. Brno wasn't leading only one second, however the away players could be in contact with home team during the whole game. Home team was more successful in the shooting and had more rebounds. They made 18 points more from the paint and it was key factor of the game.

 

Especially Lucia Krc-Turbova played really great game. She made 9 from 11 two-pointers and 2 from 3 free throws. Total she scored 20 points and was the best scorer of the game. Maria Felixova added 14 points and Canada national team player Tamara Tatham completed double-double thanks 12 points and 10 rebounds.

 

The game between Cajky and Valosun were the fight of Czech national team point gaurds too. Katerina Bartonova collected 5 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while Katerina Sedlakova scored 3 points and added 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The best scorers of Valosun were Sprague and Jones with 12 points.

 

Martin Pospisil, Piestanske Cajky: “It was really important win in the tough game against very well opponent. Key was that we did it when Valosun lost only three points. Our answer was the better organization in the offense and good game in the defense.”

 

Marian Svoboda, Valosun KP Brno: “We didn't catch the rebounds in offense of home team. We didn't play so active in defense, how we should. We missed more aggressiveness in our game. It was really quality game and the little things in the offense and defense decided.”
